HSIAO        Li-Chi

This work is made for National Palace Museum Qianlong C.H.A.O. New Media Art Award. It’s about a Calligraphy written by a notable poet “Wang Xi-zhi”, which is a letter he wrote for his friend after a hard snow. We followed the idea “a piece of paper connect two people’s feeling”. It’s not about the feeling of who wrote it, but also about the feeling of who received it. For this reason, we made a interactive system that only two people can succeed it. At two sides of the screen, there are two tables, which have press sensors inside. If there is only one person pressing it, the calligraphy only appeared half. However if there are two people pressing it, it will show the whole letter wroten by Wang Xi-zhi.
